The philosophy of our workplace is pain-free treatment.
Any procedure that is or could be painful or uncomfortable is performed under local anaesthesia. However, local anesthesia is often not enough. If it is a major procedure with necessary pain management in the post-operative period, our department is able to provide highly superior services at the patient's request. For this purpose, an erudite anaesthesiologist is part of the multidisciplinary team that takes care of your health. As a specialist in the field, he is fully competent to perform conscious sedation.
What do you mean by conscious sedation, analgosedation?
Conscious sedation is a state of induced reduced level of consciousness with well-defined criteria. Sedation includes pain management for procedures that are otherwise very uncomfortable. Sedation also has the advantage of amnesia for the procedure (the patient does not remember the procedure).
We are one of the few prestigious centres that guarantee sedation during consciousness by a physician specialised in anaesthesiology and intensive care medicine in accordance with the recommendations of the Czech Medical Association.
Compliance with the recommendations of professional societies is a requirement of Act No. 372/2011 Coll. on health services and conditions of their provision. In order to continuously improve the quality and safety of our services, we constantly monitor the system of care.
We believe that a properly performed and painless procedure is our and your priority.
What do you need to know before undergoing a procedure in analgosedation?
Do not eat for 6 hours and drink for 2 hours before the procedure. If you are taking long-term medications, do not skip them on the day of the procedure, but wash them down with a sip of water in the morning.
If you have taken a sedative, inform the doctor. Good health is important for the surgery itself and for an uncomplicated postoperative course. Therefore, do not go to the treatment even with a common upper respiratory tract disease and ask for an appointment in time. If you smoke, limit smoking for a few days before the procedure and do not smoke at all for at least one day before the procedure. Do not use nail polish before the procedure while sedated, analgosedation makes your monitoring during the procedure impossible. Come to the treatment dressed so that you feel comfortable. After the procedure, you will be monitored in the office for 30 minutes by the anesthesiologist. It is necessary to be accompanied by another person.
You must not drive a motor vehicle after analgosedation (for at least 24 hours).
The procedure is performed on patients over 18 years of age.
