Microscopic dentistry
Microscopic dentistry is a progressive branch of dentistry. The treatment of the oral cavity is quite challenging, the dentist has to navigate a very small space with minimal access to natural light. Unfortunately, the eye alone cannot perceive all the details of the teeth and gums, which is why magnification aids must be used. On top of the magnification stands the operating microscope.
Advantages of using a microscope
Examination of the oral cavity
Using a microscope, incipient cavities, fissures, non-compliant fillings, crowns and bridges can be identified. As well as incipient changes in the mucous membranes.
Endodontics - Root canal treatment of teeth
Proper root canal treatment of a tooth is one of the most complex procedures in dentistry. The configuration and anatomy of the root canal system is highly variable and the dimensions of the canal are in the order of tens of millimetres. The use of a microscope is essential for successful treatment and it is thanks to the magnification that the treating physician has an optimal overview of the tooth cavity. The success rate of the procedure is radically increased thanks to this advantage.
Fillings
It is possible to remove decayed parts of the teeth much more precisely. The application and modelling of the filling is more precise, achieving more aesthetic and natural results.
Prosthetics
Precision is the most important factor in prosthetic treatment for the life of the prosthetic product (Inlay, Onlay, Crown, Bridge). The surgical microscope reveals inaccuracies during preparation and subsequent impression, and thanks to magnification, there is also no injury to the surrounding tissues.
